This week we spoke with stand-up comedian Gwen Sunkel and the Executive Director of INDYPROV, Indianapolis’s only Emmy nominated Improv Comedy Troupe, Bill Skaggs. We chatted about Comedy in the LGBTQI+ community. How it has been used as both weapon and shield. We also spoke about iconic figures in queer comedy. Gwen Sunkel is a stand up comedian based in Indianapolis, IN. She is well known in Indy queer circles for her lively and topical humor and her advocacy for women and queer people . She is a personal favorite of Lola Palooza and we look forward to having her with us again!INDYPROV is Indianapolis’s only Emmy nominated improv comedy troupe. There philanthropic efforts around central Indiana include various charity organization helping to empower young people through learned skills in improv exercises.
